A little about myself.
I have lived in our Sunburnt Country of Western Queensland all my life, and currently reside on our family property "Oakley", 16 klm from Longreach. My husband and I, together with our two teenage daughters, (currently at boarding school) run a grazing enterprise of Brahman cattle, Merino Sheep and Boer Goats. (well we did pre-drought anyway).
JF Hides' namesake has evolved from our long established cattle brand - JF, and seemed only fitting to be used in my new cow hide adventure.
From growing up on properties and having a family of very capable cooks and sewers, I have been sewing patchwork quilts and other homewares for as long as I can remember. More recently, I have worked in our local saddlery in Longreach, and this is where I was introduced to the industrial machine. It was a bit daunting at first, but I quickly grew to love the sound and feel of the machine and could see what amazing things you could make from leather and canvas.
Now, I have been able to bring everything together to make beautiful unique cow hide products for you.
Grab a cuppa and have a browse through my shop, where you will find clutches, accessories and homewares made with quality products and attention to detail, while remaining a “one of a kind”. I hope that you will find something that you love, as much as I have loved making it for you.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is something special you have in mind. Always happy to chat.
Yours in hides, Kirsten
